A charitable initiative of the MDP Advantage, the Monte de Piedad® Foundation awards generous scholarships to emerging young leaders and scholars within the South County of San Diego, who are unable to attain a higher education because of financial hardship. We recognize that a fundamental building block for any community’s success is their access to a quality education and strong leadership. The Monte de Piedad® Foundation can make your dream education, no longer just a dream.
Applicants must meet the following standards to qualify:
- Must be graduated or about to graduate from high school or its equivalent and be enrolled or about to enroll at an accredited college, junior college, university, trade or business school or graduate, postgraduate or professional school
- Must submit a confidential application form to the Selection Committee of the Monte de Piedad® Foundation
- Must demonstrate character and motivation to obtain an education with an unwavering devotion to complete his or her education
- Demonstrate a need for financial assistance in completing one’s studies, submitting documentation of such need along with the application

To apply for our FUNDACION MONTE DE PIEDAD® scholarship fund, please visit the The San Diego Foundation website and apply via the Common Scholarship Application. When filling out the application, specifically list FUNDACION MONTE DE PIEDAD® as the specific Scholarship Fund you will be applying for.
100% of the Scholarship funds awarded by FUNDACION MONTE DE PIEDAD® have been exclusively donated by MONTE DE PIEDAD® Pawn & Jewelry. FUNDACION MONTE DE PIEDAD® works in partnership with The San Diego Foundation for the application and selection process.
